MODELS
All models are built using Super Sculpey, baked in an oven, and hand-painted using a variety of “folkart” paints and glazes.
There are sample photos below of models I have done in the past, to give you an idea of the models I typically create.
If you like any of them, you can request one for yourself. If you want something different, skip straight to How To Order!
HOW TO ORDER
Stock Models
Want a copy of one of the samples as shown above? Here's how:
- Choose a model from the photographs above. Click the thumbnail to view the large image.
- Copy down the MODEL CODE and PRICE as seen in the image.
- Click the PAYMENT button below; this will take you to a PayPal page.
- Under "Item": type the MODEL CODE you copied down.
Under "Unit Price": type the PRICE that you copied down.
- Continue to the next page by logging into PayPal or clicking "Continue"
- Fill out the information PayPal asks for (ie shipping address, I will need this to mail your model to you)
- PayPal will send me an email with your name, order, and mailing address, to let me know who you are and what you have ordered from me.
- I will then send you an email to let you know I have received your order and will begin work on it soon.
- (be patient. Models take time to create, and especially to paint. I haven't forgotten you)
You will receive another email when your model is in the mail.
- Please email me when you receive your model in the mail.
You are not in any way required to do this... I just like to know that everything turned out all right.
Custom Models
Want something else? Something you designed or want me to design?
Here's how:
- Email me at laurel(dot)ek(at)gmail(dot)com with a description of the model you would like. Please include (if you can):
- Approximate desired size (I will accept rough estimates like "the size of a pop can..")
- A basic general description of the item (shape, colour, any specific details)
- Pictures (if possible). If it exists in real life, photos are awesome. However, I will also happily accept rough sketches.
Point form is fine; you are not required to write an essay. 
Please title your email "LV COMMISSION: CUSTOM MODEL"
- I will make some preliminary coloured sketches and send them back to you.
If the sketches do not capture the idea you had in mind, we can do some back-and-forth until I get the image right.
- Once you are happy with the look of your projected model, I will quote you a price and link you to the PayPal page.
Click the "Custom Model" button. PayPal will give you two fields: "Iten" and "Unit Price".
Under "Item," type "CUSTOM MODEL: " and your name. Under "Unit Price," enter the price I have given you.
- Once I have confirmed your payment, I will begin creating your model.
- I will send you photos of the model before it goes into the oven - if there is something you would like changed, let me know.
(Please be specific and precise - I would rather not have to go back and change things multiple times. Let's try and get this right the first time!)
- When you are happy with your model, into the oven it goes! And it will soon be ready for painting.
- I will send you photos when I have finished the paint job.
Again, let me know if I need to fix anything!
- If you are completely happy with the model, I will need your mailing address so that your model can be on its way.
Yes, PayPal also requires this information.
I simply like to make doubly sure that your model will not go astray in the mail.
- (not required): Please email me when you receive your model in the mail.
You are not required to do this... I just like to know that everything turned out all right.
